Placement Policy

This season, the whole process has been made online to facilitate the students as well as the recruiters.

Eligibility & Registration

  • Eligibility to participate in the recruitment process for placements is open to all full-time final-year students (B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc, and PhD) except for QIP and Industry Sponsored students. However, PhD students who have not submitted their synopsis are not eligible. Students with specific course backlog(s) may or may not be allowed to appear in the recruitment process, depending on the eligibility criteria set by the respective company/organisation.
  • Online registration on the T&P Cell website is mandatory for all students eligible for on-campus jobs. Once registered, students can securely log in to their accounts to complete the Student Information Form (SIF) and upload their resumes. It is the student's sole responsibility to maintain the confidentiality of their password for account security.

  • Student Information Form and Resume

  • Upon successful online registration, students must promptly fill out the Student Information Form (SIF) and upload their updated resumes through their accounts. It is essential to adhere to the specified deadline (communicated by the TnP Cell) for completion, as failure to do so will result in ineligibility for on-campus placements. Late requests regarding submissions will not be considered.
  • Students are expected to provide accurate and authentic information in the SIF form and resume. Ongoing verification of details will be conducted by the TnP Cell throughout the placement process. If any discrepancies are detected during verification, strict disciplinary measures may be enforced against the student.
  • Application Rules

  • After filling the online SIF form and uploading their resume, students can view the list of registered companies and their eligibility criteria. They have the option to confirm or reject their participation in each company within a specified deadline.
  • It is crucial for students to make their choices wisely, as no changes will be allowed after the deadline. They should carefully consider their options and respond promptly to ensure their participation in desired companies for on-campus placements.
  • Rules of Withdrawing an Application

  • Students who successfully register online, fill out the SIF form and upload their resume can log in to view the list of companies that have filled out the Job-Announcement Form, along with eligibility criteria. They have the option to withdraw their application from a company until the specified deadline, after which no changes will be accepted.
  • Selection Process

  • The T&P Cell has established specific bands based on the annual CTC offered by companies. Each student is permitted to accept only one on-campus job within a particular band, except for the dream job offer. Communication regarding the bands will be provided to students well in advance of the placement season. The dream job offer will be determined dynamically.
  • Student Conduct and Disciplinary Policy

  • Absenteeism policy:
If a student confirms their participation in the recruitment process of a company through their T&P student account but fails to attend without a valid reason, the student will face stringent disciplinary consequences.
  • Participating in unfair practices during any phase of the recruitment process is a significant violation. Students caught using unfair means will face immediate deregistration and will be referred to the relevant authorities for disciplinary action.
  • Ph.D. Students

For Ph.D. students, all policies remain the same as applicable to other students with the following exception:
  • Interviews for PhD students can be conducted on any day suitable to the company as well as the candidates. Unlike the selection procedure for the rest of the students, the placements for PhDs are open throughout the year & the recruiters need not wait till December for initiating the interview process.
  • General Advice

  • Students must have their I-cards with them at all times during interviews and screening tests. Entry to the test/interview venue will strictly require the I-card, and individuals without it will not be permitted to enter.
  • The date/time/venue of the interviews will be subject to changes which, at times, may be at short notice. Students must keep themselves well informed by visiting the T&P website (On the Student Account page after logging in).
  • When appearing for interviews, students are required to bring a comprehensive file containing multiple copies of their resume, original certificates (if feasible), and photocopies of the same. It is essential to have these documents readily available for the interview process.
